North Dakota’s State Librarian is responsible for leading staff & our great state as the preeminent repository of information & access in our region. The North Dakota State Library was established in 1907 and specializes in information services to state agencies and the general population of North Dakota. Joseph C. Linnertz served as “acting director” in the absence of a State Librarian “in residence” during the ODIN years. Each of the distinguished individuals above had great vision and ideas. Mary Soucie, the current state librarian, promotes a vision of excellence that fits in well with North Dakota ideals. She & her staff are doing a fine job of canvassing the state and assisting library boards, staff and the general public on information & access needs to strengthen their community ties.
ODIN salutes all North Dakota State Librarians and their staffs.
