Ex Libris will be moving to a new data center over the Memorial Day weekend – May 29-30, 2021. A system downtime of up to 24 hours is expected beginning Saturday, May 29 6PM CT.
During that time, all Ex Libris services (Alma, Primo VE, Leganto, etc.) and other services that rely on those systems will be unavailable. This includes remote database authentication that uses local/internal Alma accounts (all Trinity patrons, clinical/external accounts at SMHS, “Community Patrons” at all institutions, etc.). All NDUS and Jamestown students and faculty that have active campus credentials will still have remote access to databases using either Authgate or the proxy servers.
We don’t expect there to be any additional actions that need to be taken by the libraries beyond communicating the outage to your patrons.
Ex Libris has provided some additional resources to help answer any questions:
- Preparing for the data center migration – recommended actions
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Update webinar (Monday, April 26)
If you plan to be open during this time, There is an Offline Circulation Utility that can be downloaded in advance.
If you need any assistance with communication or have any additional questions about the planned outage, please submit a ticket to ODIN: https://www.odin.nodak.edu/helpticket and we will be happy to answer any questions or assist in any way we can. If we receive any further information from Ex Libris, we will be sure to pass it along.
